Quick Recap: Sustainable Living Festival 2012

May 5th was the Sustainable Living Festival. It was a blast! It was held in Downtown Houston at Market Square Park. The idea of the festival was to promote sustainable living, re/up-cycling, and using eco-friendly products. Vendors were on hand selling, recycled art, jewelry, clothes, food, household products etc.
There was also interactive demonstrations, recycled art workshops, eco-games and lots of activities for kids of all ages, a farmers market and back-to-back main stage entertainment including:
The Wheel Workers
Love Local Awards
Runaway Sun
Recycled Fashion Show
Headliner: Hippie Hannah from America's Next Top Model Cycle 16
Honky Tonk Blood Bros With Craig Kinsey, Hank Schyma, John Evans & Emily Bell

One of the best highlights of the Sustainable Living Festival was the recycled fashion show, that was hosted by my friend, and fellow blogger Ahshia Berry of Events and Lagniappe Boutiques that showcased their vintage and up-cycled fashions were: Beatniks, Fashion Plate Lifestyle, and Hello-Lucky. The handbags were provided by Jocas Handbags and the pearls were from Crystal Milton of P.S. Your'e Lovely.

Thursday May 4th, Great Day Houston, hosted by Debra Duncan, previewed some of the sustainable fashions on their morning show. See the featured looks on Great Day Houston video clip.
