HAIR PRODUCT FAIL!

When buying hair products, sometimes you just have to go with what YOU KNOW. But then there are times, you become adventurous and curiosity takes over. And then...Hair Product Fail Happens.

I was using Cantu Coconut Curling Cream, which I actually liked (See my previous post on a review). I ran out of it and decided to try something  else. Big mistake. Well since I've had good experiences with  Shea Moisture's product line (The Curl Enhancing Smoothie and Organic Yucca Baobab Thickening Conditioner) I wanted to get something else from the Shea Moisture product line.
SHEAMOISTURE 12OZ CNT&HBSCS HR GEL
I bought this Shea Moisture Curling Souffle ($9.99), and I absolutely
H A T E D it. Why? First of all, I have never had a product make my hair sticky, tangled and dried out at the same damn time. It kind of has the consistency and feel of Kinky Curly Custard and looks very similar to it in color. I tried using the Curling Souffle twice.....no three times, to make sure it wasn't just me. I applied it like I do everything else, from root to tip, while wet. NO BUENO! On top of the mess, aka my hair, it made the back of my neck sticky!!!! WTH?? I was literally wiping the back of my neck ALL DAY with a wet napkin ugh! Irritated and pissed at Curling Souffle at this point.

THE worst natural hair product I've ever purchased, needless to say. I wouldn't recommend this to my worst enemy (Well...maybe I would). Nevertheless, it was horrible for MY hair. I returned it Walgreen's and I exchanged it for some other items.

If you've had success with Shea Moisture Curling Souffle, that's great. Different products work with different hair types.

Shea Butter Coconut Curling CreamFor now, I'll stick with Cantu Coconut Curling Cream.
It's in love with my hair! Soft, moisturized with a light firm hold for defining the curls. I can actually get my fingers through my hair and it makes it manageable. Yeah...I'm good. :-)

Peace & Blessings,

  1. I am in LOVE with the Cantu Shea Butter Leave-In. My hair loves it! I had no idea they had a Coconut Curling Cream for Natural Hair. I have got to try it. Going to get some hair products today and I will be looking for it. I also hated the Kinky Curly Curling Custard. I love all their other products though. Thanks for the review!

  2. Thanks for reading Tia! I think you're going to like the curling cream if you love the leave-in conditioner.

  3. Thanks for the review, apparently Shea moisture is supposed to be "great" for natural hair, I'm still a bit skeptical to try it, right now I just stick to Eco Styler. Now following #BLMGirls
